Piast aims to be defensively solid and highly difficult to break down by using a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep and absorb pressure, looking to win the ball back and hit the opposition in transition. The plan revolves around a heavy defensive presence that forces opponents into wide areas before launching quick attacks.

Ntamack stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit functions as a back five with Drachal, Leśniak, and Łobojko occupying the central spots to win the header and clear the lines. Drachal acts as a leader in the middle, while Leśniak and Łobojko cover the space around him. Lima and Vallejo operate as attacking wing backs, tasked to provide width and support the attack when the team wins possession. They must also track back quickly to ensure the back five remains intact when defending.

The midfield operates as a flat four to maintain a compact shape and deny the turn to opponents. Lewicki and Fikaj hold their positions to protect the center, while Juande works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. Twumasi stays wide on the right to stretch the defence and provide an outlet. This midfield unit works to squeeze the space between the lines, making it hard for the opposition to play through the middle. They look to intercept passes and immediately look for the strikers.

Piast employs two forwards in a partnership of Grill and Plach to lead the line. These two work together to hold up the ball and allow the midfield to move up the pitch. Instead of a lone striker, this duo allows for better link up play between the lines and more options for long balls. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. When the team breaks quickly, Grill and Plach look to run in behind the defensive line to exploit the space.

One major advantage for Piast is the compactness when defending, which makes it very hard for opponents to find passing lanes. The wide overloads from Lima and Vallejo also provide a way to stretch the pitch once the team wins the ball. Another strength is the ability to use the two strikers to hold the ball up, allowing the team to transition from a low block to an attacking phase effectively.

This 5-4-1 formation creates a very disciplined defensive block that is hard to penetrate. It is a lineup best suited for facing teams that dominate possession and require a counter attacking threat to score.
