Besiktas aims to play with a high press and heavy verticality using a 4-2-4. This formation is built to catch opponents in transition and pin them back with constant pressure in the final third. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and get to the goal with as few passes as possible.

Nübel stays between the posts to command the area. The back line functions as a flat back four, though they must stay high to support the forward line. Djalo and Transfer act as the central defenders, where Djalo uses his strength to win the second ball and Transfer provides cover. Murillo plays as an attacking full back to provide width on the right, while Transfer operates on the left to help the midfield when they need to recycle possession. The defensive unit must work together to set the offside trap and prevent long balls from bypassing the high line.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to provide some stability in front of the back four. Salih and Orkun are tasked with protecting the center. Salih works to shield the defense and break up play, while Orkun looks to carry the ball forward and link the defense to the attack. They must be ready to press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and avoid being bypassed by quick combinations in the middle. This pair is vital to ensure Besiktas does not get caught on the break.

The attack is aggressive, utilizing four players to stretch the defense. Trossard plays as an inverted winger on the left, often cutting inside to create chances or shoot. On the opposite flank, the right winger stays wide to pull the opposition out of position. Vlahovic acts as a pressing center forward, using his physical presence to pin the last defender and fight for every ball. Beside him, the other center forward works in a partnership to create runs in behind and combine in tight spaces. This front line is designed to create chaos and isolate defenders in one on one situations.

Besiktas gains a huge advantage through the speed of transition and the ability to overwhelm the opposition with four attackers. The lineup allows for wide overloads when Murillo pushes up to overlap the winger. By staying compact in a mid-block when they lose the ball, they can quickly trigger a press to win it back high up the pitch.

This 4-2-4 formation relies on intense pressure and direct attacking movements. It is best suited for games where the opponent struggles to play out from the back or lacks the pace to defend against rapid transitions.
