The midfield works as a three man midfield with a carrier and a creative spark. L. Matthäus acts as the engine, driving forward with the ball and pressing aggressively to win the ball back. B. Robson connects the defensive and attacking lines, helping to recycle possession and screen the back five. Sitting just ahead of them is D. Maradona, who plays as an attacking ten. He looks to find pockets of space between the lines to create chances and play through the lines with his incredible passing range and dribbling. This trio ensures PSG can transition from a defensive block to an attacking phase with speed.

PSG utilizes two forwards in a partnership to terrorize the opposition back line. M. van Basten acts as a striker capable of holding up the ball and linking play, while K. Rummenigge plays as a second striker who loves to run in behind. They work in combinations to pull defenders out of position. The attacking front line is designed to press from the front, forcing long balls from the opposition. When the team builds in possession, the wing backs E. Gerets and A.
