Jihlava focuses on a high press and quick transitions in a 4-5-1. This formation is built to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch and force the opposition to play wide before winning the ball back high up the pitch. By using a crowded midfield, Jihlava can control the tempo and maintain a compact block when out of possession.

Slavata acts as the last line of defense behind a flat back four. The defensive line stays relatively high to support the press, with Štětka and Čermák acting as the central defenders who must be ready to cover space if the opponent breaks the line. Štrakl operates as a right back who can push forward to provide width, while Hošek stays as a left back to balance the line. The unit must work together to hold the line and ensure the offside trap is set correctly when the opposition tries to go direct.

The midfield relies on a double pivot with Jambor and Lacko sitting in front of the defense to shield the back four and deny the pivot. Křehlík, Labaran, and Mokrovics operate as a three man midfield with a carrier, working to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Křehlík looks to find the feet of the striker, while Labaran and Mokrovics press aggressively to win the ball in the middle third. This group works to recycle possession and quickly switch play once they regain control.

Jihlava uses a lone striker in Omotoye to lead the line. Omotoye acts as a pressing centre-forward, constantly harrying the opposition back line to force errors and long balls. The wide midfielders must tuck inside to create a central presence, which allows the team to attack in combinations through the middle. This movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the midfielders to arrive late into the box to support the attack.

One major strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to build out from the back. The numerical superiority in midfield allows Jihlava to compress the midfield and win the second ball frequently. This compact shape makes it hard for the opposition to find passing lanes between the lines, especially when the team shifts as a single unit.

This 4-5-1 formation prioritizes a suffocating midfield presence and high energy. It is best suited for games where the team needs to disrupt an opponent that prefers to play short from the back.
