Weiper (SK Sturm) · Kiteishvili (SK Sturm) · Gorenc Stankovic (SK Sturm) · S. Seidl (SK Sturm) · Mamageishvili (SK Sturm) · Rozga (SK Sturm) · Balbo (SK Sturm) · Heil (SK Sturm) · Koller (SK Sturm) · Vallci (SK Sturm) · Suzuki (Aston Villa)A heavy high press and rapid attacking transitions define this lineup, which operates in a 4-3-3. The team aims to win the ball high up the pitch and move the play forward with speed to catch the opposition out of position. This formation is built to play vertical football, looking to penetrate lines quickly once the ball is recovered.
Suzuki sits between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four remains relatively compact, featuring Heil at right back and Balbo at left back. Both full backs look to push up and overlap the wingers to provide width. In the heart of the defense, Koller and Vallci act as the central pairing, where Koller is tasked with being dominant in the air while Vallci focuses on covering space and reading the game. The unit works together to squeeze the space between the lines and maintain a high line to keep the team compact.
The midfield functions as a three man midfield with a carrier and a playmaker. Gorenc Stankovic operates in the left central role, working to connect the defense to the attack and win the second ball. S. Seidl plays in the right central spot, driving forward with the ball to carry it into the final third. Kiteishvili plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to create through balls. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensures the team can quickly transition from a mid block to an attacking position.
The attacking front line uses three attackers across the front to stretch the opposition. Weiper acts as a pressing centre forward, leading the line by forcing the opposition defenders into mistakes. On the flanks, Mamageishvili plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside, while Rozga stays wide on the right to act as a winger who hugs the touchline. This setup creates many chances for runs in behind and allows the team to deliver early crosses into the box. The forwards press from the front to prevent the opposition from playing out from the back.
One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press that the midfield can quickly join. Another advantage is the wide overloads created when Balbo and Heil push forward to support the wingers. This forces the opposition to defend in much larger areas, creating gaps in the middle for Kiteishvili to exploit.
This 4-3-3 formation focuses on high intensity and quick verticality to overwhelm opponents. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back or teams that leave large spaces behind their defensive line.
