Starting Lineup
Shamim · TAMIM · Biplob · Rasel · Belal · Jahid · Sharif · Saddam · Rashedul · Jahidul · KawsarA heavy focus on defensive stability and quick transitions defines this team, which operates in a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup aims to stay compact when defending and use the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the opposition during breaks. The goal is to keep a solid central block to deny space between the lines while looking to hit the opponent on the transition.
Jahidul sits between the posts to command the area. The back five consists of Rasel acting as the central defender, flanked by Jahid on the left and Sharif on the right. These three central defenders work to hold the line and win headers in the box. Kawsar and Belal act as attacking wing backs, tasked with providing width and tracking back to form a five man line when the team sits deep. This unit aims to keep a narrow defensive block to force play wide.
The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier. Biplob and TAMIM occupy the central roles, where they work to press in a mid-block and win the second ball. Shamim plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, looking to find space in the pockets to connect the lines. Biplob and TAMIM are responsible for shielding the defense and recycling possession to find the attackers. Shamim attempts to drive forward to support the front two when the team pushes up.
In the final third, the team uses two forwards in a partnership. Saddam and Rashedul lead the line, often working in combinations to pull defenders out of position. Saddam acts as a pressing centre forward to disrupt the opponent build up, while Rashedul looks to find runs in behind the defense. The width comes from Kawsar and Belal who overlap the wingers to deliver crosses. This attacking structure relies on the front two to hold up the ball and wait for the midfield to join the attack.
One major advantage is the ability to maintain compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The team also benefits from wide overloads when Kawsar and Belal push high to support the forwards. This creates a secondary wave of pressure that can overwhelm wide areas. The formation allows for a quick change from a deep block to a vertical attack.
This 5-3-2 lineup is built to be defensively solid and dangerous on the break. It is best suited for facing teams that dominate possession and struggle to deal with direct counter attacks.
