In the final third, Roma utilizes three attackers to pin the opposition back line. Malen operates as a pressing centre-forward who looks to run in behind the defenders, while Dybala cuts inside from the right wing to create chances with his technical skill. On the left, X provides further width and attacking threat. The team looks to combine in tight spaces and use the runs of the wing backs to create overlaps, often looking to deliver crosses from the byline or find Malen in the box.

Roma finds success through the speed of transition and the ability to create wide overloads. By having Wesley and Molina push high, the team can pin the opposition back and force them into a deep defensive position. The presence of a strong midfield duo allows the team to maintain compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle.
