Chelsea relies on a high press and rapid transitions when operating in a 3-4-3. This formation is built to control the pitch by squeezing the space in the middle while using wide players to stretch the opposition. The team looks to win the ball back high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position.

Dibu guards the goal as the last line of defense. The back three consists of LEVI as the left centre-back, MAXENCE in the middle, and JOSH as the right centre-back. LEVI and JOSH act as wide centre-backs to cover the channels when the wing backs push up, while MAXENCE stays central to organize the line. This defensive unit functions as a compact block that can shift left or right depending on where the ball sits.

The midfield operates with a two man central pairing consisting of MOISÉS and REECE. MOISÉS works to shield the defense and win the second ball, while REECE drives forward with the ball to connect the lines. JORREL and MALO act as the wide midfielders, providing the width needed to spread the defense. JORREL plays on the left to support the wing, while MALO carries the ball forward on the right to create overloads in the wide areas.

Chelsea uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. JOÃO acts as the lone striker, working to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. On the flanks, MORGAN plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside, while COLE operates on the right to exploit one on one situations. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball, creating opportunities for the midfielders to intercept and start a quick break.

One major advantage of this lineup is the ability to create wide overloads when MALO and JORREL push high alongside the attackers. Chelsea also benefits from the numerical superiority in the middle when the wingers tuck inside to help MOISÉS and REECE. This setup allows for a high press in coordinated waves that makes it very difficult for the opposition to build play out from the back.

This 3-4-3 formation creates a very aggressive identity built on verticality and width. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to cope with intense pressure and quick transitions.
