The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier. LORENZO and MARIO sit in the middle to control the tempo and protect the defensive line. LORENZO is tasked to win the second ball and recycle possession, while MARIO drives forward with the ball to connect the units. JONATHAN plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, acting as a link between the midfield and the front three. He looks to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to the wide players.

Deportivo uses three attackers across the front to pin the opposition. PIERRE-EMERICK acts as a pressing centre-forward, using his strength to hold up the ball and fight for aerial duels. On the flanks, ADAMA and YEREMAY operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create space for the overlapping runs of the full backs.
