Milan focuses on a high press and quick transitions using a 3-5-2. This formation is built to dominate the central areas and use wide players to stretch the opposition. The Milan lineup seeks to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position before they can set their defensive block.

PIETRO operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit utilizes a back three consisting of KONI on the left, MATTEO in the center, and FILIPPO on the right. KONI and FILIPO act as wide centre backs who can squeeze the space when the ball moves to the flanks, while MATTEO stays central to defend the box and win headers. This three man line defends zonally to ensure the team stays compact when the opponent tries to play through the middle.

The midfield is a crowded engine room designed to control the tempo. YUNUS acts as a single pivot to shield the defence and collect the ball from the centre backs. Next to him, ARDON, PERVIS, and SAMUEL form a three man midfield that can shift to support different areas of the pitch. ARDON and SAMUEL provide the drive to carry the ball forward into the half spaces, while PERVIS connects the defensive and attacking lines. ALPHADJO operates as an attacking ten behind the two forwards, looking to find pockets of space and play through the lines to split the defence.

The attack relies on a two man partnership up front. FRANCESCO and SANTIAGO work as two forwards who press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. They combine in tight spaces to pull defenders out of position, creating room for ALPHADJO to arrive late into the box. The movement of FRANCESCO and SANTIAGO is designed to create runs in behind or allow for cutbacks from the wide areas when the midfielders push up.

One major advantage of this formation is the numerical superiority in the central midfield which allows Milan to recycle possession easily. The team also benefits from the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three and ALPHADJO to trigger a press. This setup makes it difficult for opponents to build play from the back without facing immediate pressure.

Milan uses this 3-5-2 to suffocate opponents in the middle of the pitch. This lineup is best suited for games against teams that try to play out from the back and leave space behind their midfield.
