Emil starts between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four where Willy and Marc Oliver act as the central defenders. Willy plays as the right sided center back while Marc Oliver covers the left side, both tasked to defend zonally and hold the line. Ivan provides width as an attacking full back on the right, whereas Álex occupies the left flank to support the attack. The defenders must stay compact to prevent through balls and ensure they do not get caught too far out of position when the team presses.

In the center of the pitch, Como uses a three man midfield with a carrier. Samuele works in the right central role to drive forward with the ball, while Luís operates on the left to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Maxence plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs into the box. This midfield group is responsible to compress the midfield when defending and to find the feet of players in advanced positions when building play. They must work together to intercept passes and win the second ball in the middle third.

The attacking front line features three attackers designed to stretch the defence. Assane plays as a wide winger on the left, while Nicolas operates as an inverted winger on the right to cut inside and create chances. Iván leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender to create space for others. The forwards are expected to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play into the crowded midfield. This creates combinations in tight spaces and allows for runs in behind to catch the opposition off guard.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By positioning Maxence close to Iván, Como can squeeze the space in the final third and win it back high up the pitch. Another strength is the potential for wide overloads when Ivan and Álex push forward to support the wingers.
