EDOARDO stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit works as a flat back four where ALFONSO acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the left. MANUEL provides balance on the right, allowing the team to shift between a defensive block and a high line. In the center, JOSIP and ALESSIO defend zonally, with JOSIP often looking to step up to intercept passes while ALESSIO covers the space behind.

The midfield operates with a three man midfield with a carrier to transition the play. ADRIAN plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to link the lines. DANILO and FISAYO work to compress the midfield, with DANILO often dropping to receive from the center backs to play out from the back. FISAYO drives forward with the ball to carry the play into the final third. This unit works to win the second ball and ensure the team can recycle possession quickly.

Lazio uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. PETAR acts as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition defenders and force long balls. On the flanks, MATTEO and TIJJANI work as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement creates space for ALFONSO and MANUEL to overlap the winger and deliver crosses into the box. The forwards press from the front to prevent the opponent from playing out from the back.

One major advantage for Lazio is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build play. The team also creates wide overloads by using the overlapping full backs to pin the last defender. By having ADRIAN occupy the space between the lines, the team gains numerical superiority in the attacking third.
