Arsenal aims to control games through high pressing and constant possession using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to squeeze the pitch and dominate the ball in the opponent half. By staying high up the pitch, the team looks to win it back high up the pitch immediately after losing it.

In goal, GK serves as the first point of play when building from the back. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four featuring LB and RB to provide width. CB and CB form the central pairing, acting as ball playing defenders who can step up to engage attackers. The full backs are expected to push high to support the attack, while the center backs hold the line to manage the space behind. The defensive block works together to compress the space between the lines.

The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier and creative components. LCM and RCM work to control the center, with one player often dropping deeper to shield the defense while the other drives forward with the ball. AM plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, operating in the pockets of space to link the midfield to the front three. This trio works to recycle possession and find ways to play through the lines. They must be ready to press in a mid-block or jump into a high press to disrupt the opposition.

Arsenal utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. LW and RW act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances, while the ST plays as a pressing centre-forward to force the opposition back. This front line creates constant movement, with the wingers looking to isolate a one on one wide or pull wide to create space. The combination of the ST and the AM allows the team to find the feet of the striker or exploit runs in behind.

One major advantage for Arsenal is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing errors from the opposition goalkeeper and defenders. The formation also allows for wide overloads when the full backs overlap the winger, creating extra passing lanes. This setup provides the ability to control the tempo through the midfield trio while remaining dangerous on the break.

This 4-3-3 is a high intensity formation designed to dominate possession and suffocate the opponent. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
