The midfield is built to control the game through a five man unit. Yedlin and Ömer Bayram form a double pivot to shield the defence and secure the central zone. Emre Kılınç and Gedson operate in the half spaces, with Gedson known for his high pressing intensity and ability to carry the ball forward. Belhanda plays as the attacking ten, acting as the creative link to find the feet of the striker. This group connects the defence to the attack by recycling possession and driving through the thirds.

The attacking front line uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Onyekuru and Ryan Babel operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to create width, while Onyekuru looks to cut inside to attack the near post. Mustafa Muhammed leads the line as a pressing centre forward, working to pin the last defender and make runs in behind. The formation creates many chances through overlaps and quick combinations, often looking to isolate wide players in one on one situations.

One major tactical strength is the ability to create numerical superiority in midfield, making it hard for opponents to play through the lines. The intense pressing from the front three and the middle unit allows the team to win it back high up the pitch. Additionally, the wide presence of the wingers combined with the passing range of the midfielders can quickly switch play to find space.
