Ramaj stays between the posts to organize the back line. A flat back four forms the base of the defense with Huescas acting as an attacking full back on the right to provide width. López plays on the left and is tasked to overlap the winger when possible. In the center, Pereira and TBD defend the box and work to hold the line against long balls. The unit functions to stay compact and show the striker outside to prevent central penetrations.

The midfield operates in two banks of four to maintain a mid-block. Mattson and TBD form a double pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. Mattson looks to break the line with vertical passes while TBD focuses on sitting deep to deny the turn of opposition attackers. Further up the pitch, Elyounoussi and Larsson play as wide midfielders who are required to track back and help the full backs. These players must also press in pairs to win it back high up the pitch and transition quickly into attack.

FC København uses two forwards in a partnership to pressure the opposition back line. Dadasson and Moukoko work together to press from the front and force a long ball from the opponents. Dadasson often acts as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the build up, while Moukoko looks to find the feet of the striker or run into space. The attack relies on the wingers to deliver crosses and the midfielders to arrive late into the box to finish chances. This setup creates many runs in behind and allows the strikers to combine in tight spaces.

A major strength of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having two banks of four, FC København can easily compress the midfield and force errors in the middle third.
