Hajduk focuses on a compact and vertical style of play using a 4-5-1 formation. The team aims to win the ball in the middle third and look for quick breaks to exploit gaps in the opposition. This lineup relies on defensive solidity and a hard working unit to frustrate opponents before hitting them on the transition.

Silić operates between the posts to command his area. The defensive line consists of a flat back four where Acapandie plays as the right back and Hrgović occupies the left back position. In the center, Marešić and Hadžikadunić form the heart of the defense. Hadžikadunić provides aerial strength and Marešić works to cover the space behind when the full backs push up. The unit works together to hold the line and ensure the back four remains tight to deny space between the lines.

The midfield is a busy five man block that seeks to control the central areas. Del Moral and Pajaziti act as a double pivot to shield the defense and disrupt the opponent. Bamba and Dalisson operate in the central pockets to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while Šotiček operates on the left to provide more creative energy. These players aim to win the second ball and recycle possession quickly. Del Moral helps to sit deep and protect the center, allowing Bamba to carry the ball forward into the final third.

Up front, Šego acts as a lone striker to lead the line. He works as a pressing centre forward to force errors from the opposition back line. Because the team plays with a narrow midfield, Šego must hold up the ball and wait for Bamba or Šotiček to arrive late into the box. The attack is built through quick transitions where Šego tries to run in behind the defenders or lay it off to oncoming runners. The goal is to use the width provided by the full backs to stretch the defense and deliver crosses into the box.

A key strength for Hajduk is the ability to maintain compactness when defending. By crowding the midfield with five players, they make it difficult for opponents to play through the lines. Another advantage is the speed of transition once the ball is won by Del Moral or Pajaziti. This allows the team to quickly move from a defensive block to an attacking phase, catching the opposition out of position.

Hajduk relies on a disciplined defensive block and a quick vertical presence. This formation is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession and require a compact unit to absorb pressure.
