Carreira and Rueda act as attacking wing backs, ready to push up the flanks to provide width. This defensive unit works to stay narrow and deny the turn to oncoming attackers.

The midfield is a double pivot consisting of Moriba and romano. Moriba works to press aggressively to win the ball high and shield the back three, while romano connects the defensive and attacking lines by recycling possession. These two must work hard to cover the space between the lines and prevent the opposition from playing through the thirds. They act as the engine, breaking up play before looking to pass forward to the front three.

Celta utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Borja acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and hold up the ball for others. Williot plays as a wide winger on the left to cut inside and find space, while Aspas operates from the right, using his passing range and experience to create chances. This front three is designed to exploit the space behind the opposition full backs by making runs in behind and working in combinations.

One major advantage for Celta is the ability to create wide overloads when Carreira and Rueda join the attack. This forces the opposition to defend deep and creates many chances for cutbacks from the byline. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team can move from a low block to a direct attack in seconds. The presence of Aspas allows the team to combine in tight spaces and find the feet of the striker quickly.
