Starting Lineup

Lisa (Gil Vicente) · Etienne (Clermont) · Svein (Norway) · Jul (Marseille) · B36. (Ivory Coast) · M'Ado · Game · Design (Spain) · FP (Poland) · IP (Morocco) · Altenar (Greece)

A high pressing and vertical style of football drives this lineup, which operates in a 2-5-3 formation. This system aims to dominate the pitch through heavy central presence and aggressive pressure to win the ball back high up the pitch. The goal is to use a crowded midfield to squeeze the space and force mistakes before quickly hitting in behind on the transition.

Lisa stays between the posts to organize the small defensive unit. The back line consists of a narrow pair of central defenders, FP and Design, who must act as a high line to keep the distance between the lines short. Because there are only two defenders, they must be ready to step up to set the offside trap or cover wide if the opponent breaks the lines. The defensive unit functions by staying compact and relies on the midfield to shield the two centre-backs from direct attacks.

The midfield is the engine of this formation, utilizing a five man block to control the center. M'Ado acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. To the sides, Altenar and Etienne operate as an inverted eight pairing to connect the defensive and attacking lines. In the half spaces, Game and B36. push high to create numerical superiority in the final third. This midfield group is designed to press in a mid-block or trigger a press as soon as the ball enters their zone.

The attack utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. IP acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and lead the hunt for the ball. Jul and Svein play as wide wingers who stay high to provide width and isolate wide players in one on one situations. This front line works to press from the front, forcing the opponent to play long balls which the midfield can then win. The combination of these three players allows the team to attack in combinations through the middle or via quick switches to the flanks.

This formation offers a massive advantage through numerical superiority in midfield, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. The intense pressing in waves can also catch teams off guard during their build up phase. By crowding the central areas, the team can quickly transition from a defensive block into a direct attack.

This 2-5-3 formation is built for aggressive, high energy football that seeks to overwhelm the opposition in the middle of the pitch. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under intense pressure.
