Leeds focuses on verticality and high intensity to overwhelm opponents, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move quickly through the thirds to catch the opposition out of position. By spreading the pitch, Leeds aims to stretch the defence and create chaos in the final third.

Trafford starts between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a back three consisting of Rodon, Bijol, and Muharemović. Bijol acts as the central defender to win the header and command the area, while Rodon and Muharemović provide cover on the sides. This group can step up to squeeze the space or drop into a low block if the game requires more protection. They work together to defend zonally and ensure they do not get caught by runners.

The midfield works to control the center of the pitch through a four man unit. Gudmundsson and Bogle operate as the double pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. Both players are tasked to intercept passes and deny the pivot of the opposition. Further up, Ampadu plays as the left attacking midfielder to connect the lines and drive forward with the ball, while Stach plays as the right attacking midfielder to arrive late into the box. This group helps Leeds progress through the thirds by moving the ball from the deep defensive block to the front three.

The attacking unit employs three attackers to pressure the back line. Calvert-Lewin acts as the lone striker and target man to hold up the ball and find the feet of the striker in support. On the flanks, Okafor plays as a left winger who looks to cut inside, while Wilson plays as a right winger to provide width. This front line is designed to press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The movement of Wilson and Okafor allows Leeds to isolate a one on one wide or deliver early crosses into the box for Calvert-Lewin.

One major advantage for Leeds is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having Ampadu and Stach push forward, the team can trigger a press in the attacking third very effectively. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the midfielders shift to support the wingers. This creates more passing lanes and makes it harder for the opposition to mark the runners.

This 3-4-3 formation is built for a high pressing game that relies on speed of transition. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line and struggle to handle direct movement.
