Persib relies on a deep defensive block and quick transitions through a 5-4-1 formation. Kayu balsa stays on his line to manage any long shots or direct runs. The back five works as a single unit, featuring Haye and Gakuto as the central defenders who focus on winning the header and clearing the lines. Berg sits as the middle man to sweep behind the line if an attacker breaks through. On the flanks, Barros and Peralta act as attacking wing backs who must track back to support the defense but also provide width when the team moves forward.

The midfield operates as a flat four to protect the central zones. Mutombu and Matricardi play as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. They connect the defensive unit to the attack by recycling possession or playing direct passes. Eliano and Walsh occupy the wide areas as midfielders, helping to compress the midfield when the team defends in a mid-block. These players must be ready to press in pairs to force a long ball from the opponent.

Teja works as a lone striker, acting as a target man to hold up the ball under pressure. He must find the feet of the striker to bring the midfielders into the play. When the team wins the ball, Teja looks to run in behind or lay it off to Eliano or Walsh as they push forward. The attacking movement relies on the wing backs, Barros and Peralta, to provide width and deliver early crosses into the box.

One major strength of this formation is the compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to find passing lanes through the middle. The presence of five defenders and four midfielders ensures Persib can hold a low block effectively. Another advantage is the ability to use the width of Barros and Peralta to create wide overloads once the transition begins.
