This formation is built to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch and force the opposition into mistakes. By using a five man midfield, the team aims to control the center and support the lone striker through constant movement and pressure.
Dorge starts in goal to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four with Kadir and Abii on the flanks. Kadir acts as a defensive wing back to hold the line, while Abii can push higher to provide width. Obsa and Saladin form the central pairing, with Obsa acting as a ball playing defender to play short from the back. They defend zonally to maintain compactness and cover for any runs made behind them.
The midfield is a crowded engine room designed to dominate the center of the pitch. It functions as a five man midfield with a double pivot of Alle and Babi sitting deep to shield the defense. Hamdi sits more centrally to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while Aslli and Abuye operate in the half spaces to drive forward with the ball. This group is tasked to press in a mid block and pick up runners before they can turn.
Arsenal relies on Bahar as a lone striker to lead the line. Bahar acts as a pressing centre forward to force the opposition defenders into mistakes. The attacking unit works in combination with the midfielders, where Aslli and Abuye look to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. When attacking, the team looks to spread wide to stretch the defence, creating opportunities for cutbacks from the byline or through balls to Bahar.
This lineup offers significant numerical superiority in midfield, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. The closeness of the five midfielders allows the team to compress the midfield and trigger a press effectively. Additionally, the setup allows for quick transitions where the team can break quickly once the ball is won.
Arsenal uses this formation to suffocate opponents who try to play out from the back. This 4-5-1 is best suited for games where the team needs to control the tempo through central dominance.
