Inter prefers to play with a high press and heavy verticality, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation to dominate much of the pitch. This lineup relies on intense pressure and quick transitions to catch the opposition off guard. The system is built to suffocate opponents in their own half and create constant chaos through high-intensity movement.

At the back, Atubolu acts as the lone goalkeeper to oversee the defensive unit. The back three consists of Lacroix, Bisseck, and Bastoni, who defend in a narrow defensive block. Bastoni serves as a ball playing defender with a massive passing range, while Bisseck and Lacroix focus on being dominant in the air and covering the space behind. This unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and can step up to compress the pitch when Inter wins the ball.

The midfield functions as a boxy four with Dimarco and Baku acting as wide players to provide width. Dimarco operates on the left to overlap and whip it in, while Baku stays wide on the right. In the center, Barella and Zielinski form a two man midfield where Barella works to drive forward with the ball and press aggressively to win the ball high. Zielinski connects the defensive and attacking lines, often finding ways to play through the lines to find the forwards.

In the final third, Inter uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Lautaro acts as the main striker, working to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball to bring others into play. Thuram and C.Jones operate as wide attackers, with Thuram often cutting inside to find space in the half spaces. This attacking trio works to press the opposition back line constantly, looking to create runs in behind or receive the ball in tight spaces to break the line.

This formation offers Inter several tactical advantages, particularly the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the wide midfielders to pin the opposition wingers, the team can create numerical superiority in midfield. The setup also allows for quick transitions where the wide players can exploit the space left behind the opponent's full backs to deliver early crosses.
