Coventry relies on a high press to win the ball back high up the pitch in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to play a vertical game that looks to break the lines quickly once possession is regained. The goal is to use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition and create chances through fast transitions.

Daniel operates between the posts to act as the first line of build up. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four with Ethan and Joel as the central pair. Ethan and Joel focus on defending zonally and covering for one another when the line steps up. Jake acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the left, while Kaine covers the right side to maintain balance. The defensive unit works to keep the space compact and squeeze the space between the lines.

A three man midfield provides the engine for Coventry. Gustavo operates as an attacking ten behind the striker to link the lines and find the feet of the striker. In the deeper roles, Victor and Frank act as the connection between the back four and the attack. Victor can drive forward with the ball to carry the ball forward into the half spaces, while Frank stays more central to shield the defence and win the second ball. This midfield trio is tasked with recycling possession and pressing aggressively to win the ball back.

The front line uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Ellis acts as the lone striker and focuses on hold up the ball to bring others into play. Yann plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create passing lanes, while Tatsuhiro stays wide on the right to pull wide and provide width. These attackers press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the wingers to isolate a one on one wide.

This formation offers significant advantages through its ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three to trigger a press, Coventry can often win the ball in dangerous areas. The team also benefits from the wide overloads created when Jake and Kaine push up to overlap the winger. This constant pressure makes it difficult for opponents to play out from the back.

Coventry uses this 4-3-3 to dominate games through intense pressure and quick attacking movements. It is a formation best suited for facing opponents who struggle to play under pressure and attempt to build from the back.
