The midfield operates with a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative presence. Robin and Yannik occupy the central roles to control the tempo and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Robin works to protect the center and shield the defense, while Yannik drives forward with the ball to break the line. Mert plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to operate in the pockets of space between the lines. This trio works to press in a mid-block and recycle possession when the initial attack is blocked.

Augsburg utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Uchenna acts as a pressing centre-forward who leads the line by harassing the opposition defenders.
