The midfield is a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative spark. Bilal and Kofi operate in the central areas to control the tempo and press aggressively to win the ball back. Bilal works to shield the defense and recycle possession, while Kofi drives forward with the ball to link the play. Martin plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to create chances. This midfield unit connects the defensive block to the front three by playing short from the back and then breaking quickly once possession is regained.

Hamburg utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Patson plays as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and hold up the ball. Alexander acts as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and occupy the half-spaces, while Yussuf stays wide on the right to hug the touchline and deliver crosses. This attacking unit works in combinations to create runs in behind or isolate wide players in one on one situations. The forwards are tasked to press from the front to force a long ball from the opponent.
