JOHN acts as the central anchor, dominant in the air and tasked to clear the lines when under pressure. The defensive unit stays compact to ensure there are no gaps between the lines.

The midfield operates as a five man unit with a single pivot to shield the defense. NICOLÒ sits in front of the back three to deny the pivot of the opposition and win the second ball. HAKAN plays as the deep lying playmaker, looking to switch play and find the feet of the striker. FEDERICO and DJED operate as two inverted eights who drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. PIOTR plays as an attacking ten in the hole, tasked to find space between the lines and arrive late into the box.

Inter utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. MARCUS acts as a pressing centre forward to trigger a press from the front, while LAUTARO works to hold up the ball and link up play with the midfielders. The two attackers work in combinations to play one twos and knock it in behind the defenders. When the team moves from a mid block to an attack, the goal is to create runs in behind through the central channels.
