Inter focuses on a high press and quick verticality through a 3-5-2. This formation aims to win the ball high up the pitch and use a compact central presence to control the game. The team looks to transition rapidly once possession is regained to exploit gaps between the opposition lines.

Ivan sits between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a back three consisting of Yann, Benjamin, and Aleksandar. Yann and Benjamin act as wide centre-backs who can step up to engage attackers, while Aleksandar provides cover and remains dominant in the air. This three man block can shift to become a narrow defensive block to deny central entries.

The midfield operates as a dense central core designed to squeeze the space in the middle. Petar and Curtis act as a double pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Andy and Carlos act as two tens in the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Henrikh plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to drive forward with the ball and create chances. This midfield unit works to recycle possession and progress through the thirds.

Inter utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. Ange-Yoan and Pio act as a front two that works to press the opposition back line. Ange-Yoan often looks to run in behind the defence, while Pio works to hold up the ball and lay it off to oncoming runners. The team builds play through the middle to find the feet of the striker, using the width provided by the midfielders to stretch the defence.

One major advantage for Inter is the ability to press high in coordinated waves with the midfield and front two.
