Monza Football Formation
Starting Lineup
DEMBA (THIAM) · EDDY (KOUADIO) · SABA (GOGLICHIDZE) · ANDREA (CARBONI) · IDRISSA (TOURÉ) · RICARDO (MANGAS) · EBENEZER (AKINSANMIRO) · MATTEO (PESSINA) · ANDREA (COLPANI) · JAY (ROBINSON) · DANY (MOTA)Monza focuses on a direct and vertical style of play using a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to control the center of the pitch and use quick transitions to catch opponents off guard. The team looks to win the ball in the middle and move it forward rapidly to the two strikers.
Demba sits between the defenders to act as the last line of defense. A back three consists of Saba, Andrea, and Eddy who defend zonally to maintain a compact unit. Saba acts as the central anchor to clear the lines while Andrea and Eddy cover the wider areas. The defenders often step up to squeeze the space and maintain a high line to keep the team compact.
The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to move the team through the thirds. Ebenezer and Matteo operate in the center to win the second ball and connect the defense to the attack. Andrea plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to find pockets of space between the lines. Idrissa and Ricardo provide width from the wide areas, working as wing backs to cover the entire flank. They must track back to help the defense and then push up to support the transition.
Monza uses two forwards in a partnership to lead the offensive movements. Jay and Dany act as the primary goal threats, with Jay often holding up the ball to bring others into play. Dany looks to make runs in behind to stretch the defense. The wingers Idrissa and Ricardo provide width by spreading wide to pull the opposition defenders apart. This creates space for Ebenezer and Matteo to arrive late into the box or for Andrea to deliver passes through the lines.
One major advantage for Monza is the ability to create wide overloads when Idrissa and Ricardo push forward. The team also gains numerical superiority in midfield due to the presence of five players in the central corridor. This setup allows them to compress the midfield when they drop into a mid-block and defend against central penetrations.
This 3-5-2 formation provides a strong presence in the middle of the park for Monza. It is best suited for games against teams that play with a narrow midfield and lack wide threats.
