Angers aims to play with a high press and verticality using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opposition quickly in transition. By spreading the pitch wide, the team looks to stretch the defence and create gaps in the central areas for the midfielders to exploit.

ANTHONY guards the goal as the last line of defence. A flat back four forms the defensive unit with JOSEPH at left back and CARLENS at right back. Both full backs are tasked to push up and provide width to support the attack. In the center, JORDAN and OUSMANE operate as the main defenders, with OUSMANE acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks. They must hold the line and communicate well to set the offside trap when the team plays a high line.

The midfield works to control the center of the pitch through a three-man midfield. YASSIN and HARIS occupy the central roles, acting as a double pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. YASSIN looks to break the line with forward passes, while HARIS works to win the second ball and cover space. LOUIS plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, operating in the pockets between the opposition midfield and defence. LOUIS serves as the main connection to link the defensive and attacking lines, often arriving late into the box to score.

The attacking line uses three attackers to pin the opposition back. PROSPER acts as a pressing centre-forward, working to harass the defenders and find the feet of the striker. On the flanks, AMINE and JIM act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. AMINE pulls wide to stretch the play before moving into central areas, while JIM looks to find space in the channels. This setup creates many opportunities for overlaps from the full backs and allows the team to attack in combinations.

Angers gains a significant advantage through the ability to press high in coordinated waves. The front three and LOUIS trigger the press to force a long ball from the opposition. Another strength is the potential for wide overloads, as the movement of AMINE and JIM creates space for JOSEPH and CARLENS to overlap the winger. This constant movement makes it difficult for opponents to track runners and maintain their defensive shape.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high intensity and quick transitions to unsettle the opponent. It is best suited for games against teams that play a high defensive line or struggle to play out from the back.
