EWAN stands between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four where YASSER plays as the left back and DJIBRIL works as the right back. In the middle, THÉO and NOA form the central defensive pair. THÉO acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back, while NOA focuses on winning the second ball and providing cover. YASSER and DJIBRIL are expected to push up to provide width while the central duo holds the line to prevent runs in behind.

The midfield functions with a three-man midfield with a carrier. ADIL plays as the left central midfielder and JEAN operates as the right central midfielder, with both players tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high. MARTIN plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, acting as the creative link who finds the feet of the striker. ADIL and JEAN work to shield the defense and cover the spaces left by the advancing full backs, while MARTIN looks to arrive late into the box to score. This unit connects the defense to the attack by recycling possession and playing through the lines.

Le Mans utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. ANTOINE acts as the lone striker and serves as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition. On the flanks, ERWAN plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside, while ENZO operates as a wide winger on the right to stay wide and cross. The attack is built on quick combinations and the movement of ERWAN and ENZO to isolate wide players in one on one situations. These forwards work to pin the last defender and create space for MARTIN to operate in the pockets.

One major advantage for Le Mans is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three and MARTIN to squeeze the space in the opponent half. The formation also allows for wide overloads when YASSER and DJIBRIL overlap the wingers to create numerical superiority. This setup makes the team very dangerous during transitions when they can quickly switch play to the flanks.
