Sporting CP seeks to dominate games through a high press and rapid verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly transition into attacking situations to stretch the opposition defence. By maintaining high intensity, Sporting CP aims to control the tempo and force mistakes in the opponent's half.

Kaique operates between the posts to manage the defensive line. The back four functions as a flat line, where Georgios acts as a full back to provide width and Moncef covers the left side. Eduardo and Ibrahima form the central pairing, with Eduardo acting as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back while Ibrahima provides strength to win the header. The unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and set the offside trap when the team pushes up.

The midfield uses a three man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Pedro and Silas work to control the middle, with Silas acting to press aggressively to win the ball high and Pedro looking to connect the defensive and attacking lines. João plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines. This group is responsible for recycling possession and ensuring the team can quickly shift from a defensive block to an attacking move.

In the final third, the lineup uses three attackers across the front. Jesse and Luís act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull the opposition full backs apart, while Fotis works as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line. Jesse and Luís look to cut inside to create chances or deliver early crosses into the box. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow João to arrive late into the box to support the attack.

The main tactical advantages of this formation involve the ability to press high in coordinated waves and create wide overloads. When Georgios and Moncef push up, they combine with Jesse and Luís to pin the last defender and win the second ball in advanced areas. Sporting CP also benefits from the speed of transition, using the passing range of the midfielders to hit in behind on the transition before the opposition can recover.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high intensity and verticality to break down opponents. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line or struggle to deal with heavy pressure in their own half.
