In the attacking third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition defense. Beier leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, making runs in behind to test the defenders. Konstantelias and Nwaneri act as wide wingers who cut inside to create overloads in the half spaces. This movement forces the opposition to collapse centrally, which allows Beier to find space or provides room for Sabitzer to operate.

One major advantage is the numerical superiority in midfield, which makes it difficult for opponents to play through the center. The formation also creates wide overloads when the midfielders and wingers combine to isolate the opposition full backs.
