Trafford acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit sits in a flat back four where Justin operates as the right back to provide width. On the left, Gudmundsson handles the wide area to balance the back line. In the center, Rodon and Muharemovic form the pair of central defenders, tasked with holding the line and winning the second ball. The unit works to stay compact to protect the space behind them when the team pushes forward.

The midfield works as a double pivot to manage the center of the pitch. Ampadu and Stach provide the necessary cover for the defensive line. Ampadu works to shield the defense and win possession in the middle, while Stach looks to carry the ball forward to connect the play. This two man pairing must work hard to cover the large gaps left by the high attacking line, ensuring they can intercept passes and recycle possession effectively.

The attacking force is composed of four players designed to stretch the opposition defense. Okafor and Wilson operate as wide attackers, with Wilson on the right and Okafor on the left. They look to cut inside and create chances for the two central forwards. Calvert-Lewin acts as a target man to hold up the ball and win headers, while Aaronson plays as a pressing centre-forward to hunt for the ball high up the pitch. This front line uses combinations to attack the defense through runs in behind or by finding the feet of the striker.

Leeds gains a significant advantage through the speed of transition once the ball is won. The 4-2-4 lineup allows for wide overloads when the wingers and full backs combine to push into the final third. Additionally, the heavy presence of four attackers can pin the last defender and create high pressure in the opponent's half, making it difficult for them to build play from the back.
