Hibernian focuses on a high press and quick transitions using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to pin the opposition back and win it back high up the pitch. The team seeks to use verticality to catch opponents out of position as soon as they lose the ball.

RAPHAEL sits between the posts to manage the defensive line. Hibernian uses a flat back four where FELIX acts as an attacking full back to provide width. On the opposite side, JORDAN can push up to overlap, while ROCKY and GRANT occupy the central spots. ROCKY acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks, while GRANT is there to cover and win headers. The defensive unit works to squeeze the space and move as a single block to deny passing lanes.

The midfield works as a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. JACOB operates in the hole as an attacking ten behind the striker to find pockets of space. MIGUEL and JOSH occupy the central areas to connect the defence and attack. MIGUEL works to shield the defence and win the second ball, while JOSH drives forward with the ball to carry it into the final third. They aim to compress the midfield to prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

The attack features three attackers across the front. THIBAULT plays as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line and hold up the ball for others. On the wings, MARTIN and JAMIE act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central presence. This movement creates space for FELIX and JORDAN to overlap the winger and provide crosses. The front three work to press the opposition back line, looking to hit in behind on the transition or play one-two combinations to split the defence.

One major advantage of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having JACOB close to THIBAULT, the team can trigger a press from the front immediately. Another strength is the wide overloads created when the full backs push high. This forces the opposition to stretch the defence and leaves them vulnerable to through balls.

Hibernian relies on a high intensity style that targets teams playing a slow build up. This formation is best suited for matches where the team can exploit space behind a high defensive line.
