This formation is built to dominate the middle third and quickly transition from a mid-block into a heavy attacking phase. The goal is to use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition before playing through the lines to isolate defenders.
Nordin sits between the posts to organize the back line. A flat back four forms the foundation, with Hugo acting as a defensive wing back on the right to provide width. On the left, Matteo pushes up to overlap the winger, while Jorne and Han-Beom operate as the central pair. Jorne covers the space behind the advancing full backs, and Han-Beom stays deeper to win the second ball and intercept passes.
The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier. Hugo occupies the right central role to drive forward with the ball and link the defense to the attack. Lynnt plays as the left central midfielder, working to compress the midfield and protect the space in front of the center backs. Félix plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space between the lines and arrive late into the box to score.
Club Brugge utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the opposition back line. Andrej acts as a pressing centre-forward, working to win the ball high up the pitch and hold up the ball for his teammates. Wisdom and Mamadou play as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement allows the team to create runs in behind and deliver crosses from the half-spaces when the opposition defense shifts.
This lineup offers significant advantages through wide overloads when Hugo and Mamadou combine to overload the right flank. The presence of Félix allows for numerical superiority in the final third, often leaving the opposition center backs isolated. The team can also shift quickly from a mid-block to a high press, using the front three to trigger a press and win the ball back high up the pitch.
The 4-3-3 formation focuses on high intensity and quick vertical transitions. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line or struggle to manage wide overloads.
