The unit works together to maintain a high line and set the offside trap.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative link. Paul and Noah work to control the center, with Paul often dropping deep to shield the defence and collect from the centre-backs. Noah connects the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward into the half-spaces. Sven plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to arrive late into the box and find pockets of space between the lines. This group ensures PSV can transition from a mid-block into an attack through quick passing.

An attacking trio leads the front line to pin the last defender. Sam plays as a lone striker, using his presence to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Esmir and Dennis act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. Dennis looks to isolate a one on one wide, while Esmir searches for space to drive at the defence. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition, allowing the back four to reclaim possession.

This lineup offers several tactical advantages. PSV can create wide overloads when Kiliann and Dennis combine to bypass the opponent.
