ASKE acts as an attacking full back on the left to provide width, while BART stays more disciplined on the right to cover the flank. RUUD and ROBIN form the central pair, with RUUD acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks from the back. They work together to hold the line and squeeze the space when the team pushes forward.

The midfield operates with a three man midfield with a carrier and a creative presence. RAMIZ plays as the left central midfielder to cover ground and press aggressively. THOMAS works in the right central midfield role to connect the defensive and attacking lines. KRISTIAN plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, operating in the half spaces to find pockets of space. This group works to recycle possession and ensure the team remains compact when they lose the ball.

FC Twente utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. WOUT acts as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition centre-backs. MARKO and SONDRE play as wide wingers, with MARKO cutting inside from the left and SONDRE looking to get to the byline on the right. They look to combine in tight spaces and deliver early crosses for WOUT. The front three work in unison to trigger a press the moment the ball enters their zone.

This formation offers the advantage of being able to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. By using the width provided by ASKE and BART, FC Twente can create wide overloads to isolate one on one situations for SONDRE and MARKO.
