CARLOS (MIGUEL) · AGUSTÍN (GIAY) · MURILO (CERQUEIRA) · GUSTAVO (GÓMEZ) · JOAQUÍN (PIQUEREZ) · MARLON (FREITAS) · ANDREAS (PEREIRA) · MAURÍCIO (MAGALHÃES) · JHON (ARIAS) · VÍTOR (ROQUE) · FLACO (LÓPEZ)Palmeiras aims to dominate through a high press and rapid transitions using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly push into the final third. The goal is to squeeze the space and force turnovers to catch the opposition out of position.
Carlos acts as the last line of defense in goal. A flat back four provides the foundation, with Agustín playing as an attacking full back to provide width on the right. On the left, Joaquín functions as a defensive wing back to balance the side. In the center, Murilo and Gustavo operate as a central defensive pair, with Murilo acting as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back while Gustavo focuses on being dominant in the air.
The midfield works as a three man midfield with a carrier. Andreas acts as the link, dropping between the centre backs to receive and help progress the ball. Marlon plays as an inverted eight to drive forward with the ball into the half spaces. Maurício operates as an attacking ten behind the striker to find the feet of the attackers and create chances. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensure the team stays compact when defending.
Palmeiras utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Flaco operates as a pressing centre forward to lead the line and harass the opposition back line. On the flanks, Jhon acts as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create space for overlaps, while Vítor stays wide to pull defenders apart. The attack relies on combinations in tight spaces and quick runs in behind to exploit gaps in the opposition.
A major advantage for Palmeiras is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing the opponent into mistakes. The formation also offers wide overloads when Agustín and Jhon combine to overload the right flank. This allows the team to move the ball quickly from side to side and find space in the channels.
The 4-3-3 formation focuses on aggressive pressing and quick vertical play. This lineup is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
