Sport seeks to control the tempo of the game through a high press and verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move it quickly toward the goal. The lineup aims to pin the opposition back and create constant pressure in the final third.

Brenno starts in goal to organize the back line. The defense works as a flat back four with Raí acting as the left back and Claudinho operating as the right back. They are expected to push high to squeeze the space. Patrick and Habraão form the central pair, where one must be prepared to step up into midfield while the other covers the space behind. This defensive unit functions to maintain a high line and intercept passes before they reach the opposition attackers.

The midfield relies on a three-man midfield with a carrier to drive the play. Carlos plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to connect the lines. Pedro and Patrick operate in the central areas, where one must shield the defense while the other carries the ball forward. This trio works to win the second ball and progress through the thirds. They must press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and prevent the opponent from building from the back.

Sport uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Dudu acts as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up. On the flanks, Biel works as a wide winger on the right while Clayson plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside. This setup creates runs in behind and allows the team to attack in combinations. The forwards are tasked to press from the front and force a long ball from the opposition.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball in dangerous areas. The team can also create wide overloads when the full backs like Raí and Claudinho overlap the wingers. This provides extra passing lanes and helps to split the defense with through balls.

The 4-3-3 formation of Sport is built for heavy pressing and quick transitions. It is best suited for games where the team can dominate possession and force the opponent into mistakes.
