Starting Lineup

Dhika · Iden · Tusla · Bilal · Taufiq · Habibi · Uzi · Ricky · Dian · Rfak · Ady n

Armenia looks to play a direct style of football using a 4-4-2 formation. The team focuses on quick transitions and verticality to move the ball toward the opposition goal. This lineup is built to strike fast when winning the ball in central areas.

Dhika stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four operates as a flat defensive block to deny space between the lines. Bilal and Taufiq act as full backs to cover the flanks, while Tusla and Iden work as central defenders. Tusla and Iden need to hold the line and win the second ball when long balls are played. The unit works to squeeze the space and force the opposition wide.

The midfield consists of a three man central unit working with Dian as an attacking ten. Habibi and Uzi work to shield the defence and recycle possession to maintain control. Ricky acts as a carrier to drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Dian operates in the hole behind the strikers to play through the lines and find the feet of the strikers. This group must press in a mid block to prevent the opposition from playing out from the back.

Armenia utilizes two forwards in a partnership up front. Ady n and Rfak work together to stretch the defence and make runs in behind the opposition back line. They often play as a front two that pressures the defenders to force a long ball. Ady n and Rfak combine in tight spaces to create chances, often looking for cutbacks from the byline if the wide players can get forward. The attack relies on quick combinations to catch the opposition out of position.

One major advantage for Armenia is the ability to hit in behind on the transition with the two forwards. The midfield group provides enough numbers to win the second ball and support the attack quickly. Another strength is the compactness when defending in a mid block, making it hard for opponents to find gaps.

This 4-4-2 formation relies on high intensity in the central areas to disrupt the opponent. It is a setup best suited for games where Armenia can exploit space behind a high defensive line.
