Custom Team Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Ciobanu · Golofca · Cimbru · Burdet · Bai (Ilie) · David · Fulop · Ferhaoui · Aftanache · Raducan · BujorPrioritizing a compact defensive block and rapid transitions, this lineup operates in a 4-5-1. The team looks to sit deep and deny space between the lines, relying on the midfield to clog the central areas before looking to hit in behind on the transition. This formation is built to absorb pressure and strike when the opponent leaves gaps in the defensive line.
Ciobanu guards the goal, acting as the last line of defense when the team drops into a low block. The back four consists of a flat line with Golofca and Bai providing width as full backs. Burdet and Cimbru occupy the central roles, tasked with holding the line and winning the second ball. While Golofca and Bai can push up to provide width, the priority for Burdet and Cimbru is to defend zonally and ensure they do not get caught too high when the team loses possession.
The midfield functions as a five man unit designed to compress the midfield and deny passing lanes. David and Fulop operate as a double pivot to shield the defense, with David sitting slightly deeper to break the line with vertical passes. Bujor, Aftanache, and Ferhaoui operate ahead of them to win the ball high up the pitch or pick up runners in the middle third. Bujor acts as the link, while Aftanache and Ferhaoui focus on pressing in pairs to force a long ball from the opposition.
In the attacking phase, Raducan acts as a lone striker, tasked with holding up the ball and fighting for aerial strength to bring others into play. The wide players, effectively operating as midfielders in this formation, can push forward to support him, but Raducan must often lead the press from the front to force the opposition back. The team builds play through the middle or uses the width provided by the full backs to switch play, looking for runs in behind to exploit the space left by an advancing opponent.
One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create a crowded central area, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the lines. By using David and Fulop to protect the center, the team can shift between a mid-block and a low block with ease. Another strength is the capacity to hit quickly in transition, using the collective energy of the midfield to carry the ball forward once possession is regained.
This 4-5-1 formation is built for a team that wants to be defensively solid and hard to break down. It is best suited for matches against dominant sides where the goal is to sit deep and counter at pace.
