Starting Lineup

Marchano · Levi · Sepp (Kapitein) · Yoran · Jathan · Arne · Dani · Elham · Sem · Safouan · Jayden

Focusing on a strong defensive base and rapid vertical transitions, this lineup operates as a 5-3-2. The formation is built to sit deep and absorb pressure before hitting the opposition with speed. This way of playing relies on a compact defensive block and efficient movement when the ball is won back.

Marchano acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit consists of a back three with Arne at the center to command the area and sweep behind the line. Yoran and Sepp operate as the wide center backs, where Yoran stays slightly more right-sided and Sepp provides cover on the left. Ahead of them, Levi and Jathan act as attacking wing backs to provide width. Levi pushes up the right flank to overlap, while Jathan drives up the left to stretch the defense. The unit works to stay narrow and close the gaps between the lines.

The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative tip. Dani and Elham occupy the central roles to shield the defense and win the second ball. Dani tends to sit more deep to deny the turn of attacking midfielders, while Elham looks to carry the ball forward into the middle third. Sem plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, acting as the link between the midfield and the attack. Sem works to find pockets of space between the lines to receive the ball and play through the lines to the forwards.

A two-man forward partnership leads the attack. Jayden and Safouan operate as two forwards who often combine in tight spaces to pull defenders out of position. Jayden plays as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front, while Safouan looks to hold up the ball and lay it off for late runners. The team builds attacks by using the width provided by Levi and Jathan, often looking to hit in behind on the transition. The wing backs aim to get to the byline to deliver crosses for the two strikers.

The primary tactical advantage is the ability to maintain compactness when defending in a mid-block. This setup makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the wide players can immediately spread wide to stretch the opposition once the ball is recovered. This allows the team to exploit large spaces behind the opponent's full backs.

This 5-3-2 formation provides a solid foundation for a team that wants to control the space in front of the defense. It is best suited for games against possession heavy sides where the team can sit deep and counter at pace.
