This midfield group works to compress the midfield when defending and move the ball quickly to the wings when attacking.

Up front, the team employs three attackers to stretch the defence. Adeline and Vieira act as wide wingers who can either pull wide to receive the ball or cut inside to find goal scoring opportunities. Daka serves as the lone striker, acting as a focal point to hold up the ball and link up with the midfielders. This attacking trio is designed to create runs in behind and allow for quick combinations in tight spaces, forcing the opposition to defend deep.

One major advantage for Hamburg is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the central midfield area.
