A high press and heavy verticality define this lineup in a 4-3-3. This formation works to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly find the forwards to catch the opposition out of position. The goal is to squeeze the space and keep the ball in the attacking third to maintain constant pressure.

Montero stays between the posts to act as the last line of defense. The back four operates with a high line to keep the unit compact. Ocampo plays as an attacking full back to provide width on the right, while Arizala looks to overlap on the left. In the center, Zamorano and Caicedo work as a central defensive pair, with Zamorano acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks and Caicedo providing cover to sweep behind.

The midfield uses a single pivot to control the tempo. S. Castañeda sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and intercept passes. Solís and Puerta act as two driving midfielders who connect the defense to the attack. Solís works to carry the ball forward into the half spaces, while Puerta looks to find through balls to break the line. This trio works to compress the midfield and deny the turn of the opposition players.

Up front, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defense. Camilo Durán plays as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and fight for long balls. On the flanks, Asprilla acts as an inverted winger who cuts inside to shoot, while Carlos Gomez stays wide to whip it in from the wings. This front line is designed to create runs in behind and isolate wide players in one on one situations through quick transitions.

The team finds success through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three to trigger a press, they can win the ball back high up the pitch. Another strength is the wide overloads created when Ocampo and Arizala push up to support the wingers. This forces the opposition to defend much larger areas of the pitch.
