Vigouroux operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit sits in a flat back four, with Mumin and Moyoyo acting as the full backs to provide width. Famewo and White form the central pairing, where White acts as a ball playing defender to initiate plays. Famewo focuses on covering the space behind the full backs and winning the second ball. The defenders must hold the line and stay compact to prevent being caught by long balls over the top.

The midfield relies on a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Ashworth and Riou sit in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. Ashworth works to intercept passes and win it back high up the pitch whenever possible, while Riou focuses on driving forward with the ball to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This two man engine room must work hard to cover the vast space left behind during offensive transitions.

In the final third, the team utilizes four attackers to stretch the defense. Hartley and Key operate as wide wingers, with Key looking to cut inside to create space for the overlapping runs. Vazquez and Hutton act as a central partnership, with Hutton acting as a target man to hold up the ball. This duo works to combine in tight spaces and make runs in behind the defensive line. The wingers push high to force the opposition full backs into deep positions, allowing the team to attack in combinations.

This formation offers significant advantages when attacking in transition. The sheer number of players in the box can overwhelm a standard back four, often creating wide overloads. By using Hartley and Key to pull defenders apart, the team creates space for Vazquez and Hutton to find the feet of the striker.
