Lanús looks to dominate through a high press and quick verticality using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to pin the opposition back and win the ball high up the pitch to create immediate goal scoring chances. The team aims to control the tempo by stretching the defence and using wide players to open gaps in the central areas.

Nahuel operates between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit sits in a flat back four where Sasha acts as an attacking left back to provide width. On the right, Tomás pushes forward to overlap the winger, while José and Carlos hold the line as central defenders. José is dominant in the air and Carlos is quick to cover the space behind if the line is breached. They work together to defend zonally and ensure the team stays compact when the opposition tries to play through the lines.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Agustín on the right and Agustín on the left work to compress the midfield and win the second ball. Franco plays as an attacking ten in the hole, finding spaces between the lines to connect the defensive and attacking units. One of the Agustíns will often drop between the centre backs to receive the ball, allowing the other to drive forward with the ball and carry it into the final third.

On the flanks, Lucas and Eduardo work as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. This movement allows Lucas to find the feet of the striker or whip it in from wide areas. This lineup offers significant advantages through wide overloads when Sasha and Lucas coordinate on the left. The team also benefits from numerical superiority in the central areas when Franco moves into the half spaces.
