Starting Lineup

Harry · Ed · Jack · Lucas · Eddie · Will · Austin · Tommy · Ollie · Roshant · Freddie

Stoke focuses on a vertical style of play designed to catch opponents out of position through rapid attacks, utilizing a 3-3-4 formation. The lineup prioritizes heavy pressure in the final third and direct movement to stretch the opposition. By spreading the field, Stoke aims to create chaos in the defensive lines of the opponent.

Harry stays between the posts to command the penalty area. The back three consists of Jack, Ed, and Lucas working as a narrow defensive block. Lucas sits as the central defender to win the header and clear the lines when the ball is played deep. Jack and Ed act as wide centre-backs to cover the space behind the midfield and step up to intercept passes. This unit stays compact to deny the turn to any central attackers.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier. Eddie acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Austin and Will operate as the runners who drive forward with the ball to connect the lines. Austin looks to recycle possession and switch play to the flanks, while Will works to press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch. This trio provides the engine to transition from defense to attack.

Stoke employs four attackers to overwhelm the back line. Roshant and Freddie work as a partnership in the center, with Roshant acting as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball. Tommy and Ollie act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull the defenders apart. This setup creates runs in behind and allows Tommy and Ollie to isolate a one on one wide. The front four work to pin the last defender and deliver early crosses into the box.

One main advantage for Stoke is the ability to press high in coordinated waves using the front four. This creates heavy pressure on the opposition goalkeeper and defenders. Another strength is the wide overloads produced when the midfielders push up, allowing the wingers to receive the ball in space. The formation also provides speed of transition when the midfield trio wins the ball back.

This 3-3-4 formation is built for aggressive, high intensity football. It is best suited for games where the team needs to break down a low block or exploit a disorganized opposition.
