In the center, LAUTARO and DIEGO act as the central defenders, where DIEGO focuses on winning the header and LAUTARO works to cover space behind the line. The unit aims to hold a high line to keep the distance between the defense and midfield small.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier. JULIÁN and TOMÁS play as the central midfielders who work to compress the midfield and win the second ball. JULIÁN helps to shield the defense while TOMÁS looks to carry the ball forward to transition the play. MATÍAS sits ahead of them as an attacking ten, looking to find space between the lines. MATÍAS works to connect the defensive unit to the front three by receiving the ball in pockets of space.

Gimnasia (Mendoza) utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. SANTIAGO leads the line as a lone striker who works to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the wings, BLÁS and IGNACIO act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. These movements allow the team to attack in combinations, with BLÁS and IGNACIO looking to receive the ball in tight spaces to play through the lines. The forwards press the opposition back line to force a long ball.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The presence of MATÍAS allows the team to achieve numerical superiority in the final third. The wide positioning of BLÁS and IGNACIO combined with the runs of FRANCO and JUAN creates wide overloads from overlapping full backs.
