The midfield functions with a three-man midfield containing a central pivot and two interior players. Joaquin and Augusto work to control the center of the pitch, with Joaquin often dropping to shield the defense while Augusto looks to carry the ball forward. Mauro plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find the feet of the forwards or arrive late into the box. The attacking line consists of three attackers across the front. Marcelo acts as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. Santiago and Franco operate as wide wingers, with Santiago hugging the touchline on the right and Franco cutting inside from the left. These attackers press from the front to force a long ball and create chances through runs in behind or cutbacks from the byline. The goal is to isolate wide players in one on one situations to create openings.
