Gino stays between the posts to anchor the defense. The back line functions as a flat back four where Juan acts as a reliable defender on the right side. Lautaro operates at left back and provides width when the team pushes forward. In the center, Renzo and Nehuén work as the central defensive pairing, with Renzo acting as a ball playing defender while Nehuen covers the space behind. The unit aims to hold a high line to keep the team compact.

The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Lucas and Lautaro sit in the central roles to control the tempo and protect the back four. Lucas works to win the second ball and intercept passes, while Lautaro connects the defensive and attacking lines. Favio plays as the advanced midfielder, acting as a link who finds the pockets of space between the lines. This group works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposing players.

Banfield utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Neyder plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create chances, while Thomas stays wide on the right to pull defenders away. Federico acts as the lone striker and works to pin the last defender. The front line is instructed to press from the front to trigger a press in the mid-block. They look to play through the lines to find Federico, who can hold up the ball or run in behind.

One major advantage for Banfield is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having Favio and the front three push up, the team can win it back high up the pitch. Another strength is the width provided by Lautaro and Thomas, which allows the team to spread wide and create overloads on the flanks. This setup makes the team very difficult to play through during transitions.
